In 2009 members of the Benchmarking and Research Committee of the Minnesota College and University Career Services Association began work to identify career learning outcomes that could be used and adapted for each of the Association's institutional members. Final recommendations were presented to the members in June 2011. Members voted to accept the four Career Learning Outcomes as written.
To develop the outcomes the Committee reviewed learning outcome frameworks from the following: the Association of American Colleges and Universities, Baxter-Magolda, Chickering, Learning Reconsidered, CAS and the University of Minnesota Duluth.
The final career learning outcomes were developed after review of the National Career Development Guidelines, the CAS Learning Outcomes for Career Services-2006, and the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The final copy of these learning outcomes can be found below.
